See the Elusive Snow Leopards with Tigerwalah

Image
Snow Leopards are some of the most enigmatic animals in the Himalayan Mountain ranges. These animals are so rare that an opportunity to see them in their natural habitat is one of the greatest experiences you will ever have. Snow Leopards currently exist only in 12 countries and its fortunate that a good population of them make the cliffs of trans-Himalayan landscape in Spiti and Ladakh their home. The locals highly revere these elusive creatures and since they are rarely seen they have named them, The Grey Ghost.  Moreover, the government of India has identified the Snow Leopards as the flagship species for the high-altitude Himalayas, meaning if the Snow Leopards thrive then so will the countless other species in these high-altitude regions.   Do you know why they are called elusive and hard to spot?   It’s because they are loners by nature.    To be honest, there is no term to even describe a group of Snow Leopards, since it’s extremely hard ...

Which is the Best Safari Zone in Jim Corbett?

Image
Being a safari lover, I always enjoy spending quality time doing various safaris. I have been more than an eight-time visitor to Jim Corbett for safari. Yes, you read that correctly: I've been to Jim Corbett Safari eight times and each time is a unique experience.     The first time I went to Jim Corbett , I visited the  Jhirna  zone. It is a newly constructed zone and the entry gate is nearly 20 kilometres from the city centre. You may go to the  Jhirna  zone if you wish to explore the forest and guess what?  The city tour is completely free.     I also went to  Bijrani  Zone. The entry gate is approximately 3–4 kilometres from the city's centre. It's more open and less bushy, which enhances your chances of seeing a tiger and you'll also discover people living in the forest if you venture deeper into the  Bijrani  Zone. You'll be able to witness the beautiful sight of how they live and manage their lives. I have be...
